Like many communities across the nation, the City of Homestead faces a critical challenge: reducing serious injuries and fatalities on its streets. These incidents are not just numbers; they represent real lives and families impacted within our community. In response, the City of Homestead has taken a bold step forward by developing the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan, a comprehensive strategy to enhance mobility and prioritize safety for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or mode of travel.

Vision Zero Safety Action Plan

Guided by national best practices and supported through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program, this plan establishes a data and community-driven framework to improve multimodal transportation conditions and reduce traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries. The Vision Zero Safety Action Plan serves as a forward-looking roadmap to strengthen access to key corridors, improve roadway performance, and guide future infrastructure investments that support the city’s long-term economic and community development goals.
